The glaze on this pot is not a color anyone chose. Kiln-change firing lets the surface do what it wants, so the greens, coppers and grays drift across the body and no two pots come out the same.
A pot with a hand in it

- Hand-painted crane — a red-crowned crane and a curl of cloud painted onto the body, the traditional motif for long life.
