Carved from a single piece of rose quartz and polished until the light goes an inch into it before it stops. Set in the palm, it is heavier than it looks and warms up faster than you expect.
One stone, one bird
- Hand carved, not cast - the wing feathering and tail taper are cut by hand, which is why the pattern runs differently across every piece.
- Natural rose quartz - a soft translucent pink with the cloudy veiling and internal fractures the stone is known for, left visible rather than polished out.
- Palm scale at 5-7 cm - big enough to hold properly, small enough for a windowsill, a bedside table or a desk edge.
- Set dark eyes - two inlaid beads that give the bird a direction to look, which is what stops it reading as an abstract lump.
